06/15/2003 -The
Chicago Yacht Club served up another great NOOD regatta again
this year, even though the weather wasn’t exactly what one
would expect for the middle of June. It was a lot more like
Mark Twain’s vision of a summer in San Francisco….COLD!
In the S2 7.9 Class, FREQUENT FLYER, skippered
by Dr. Mike Bremer and Brad Boston banged home a first with
the always potent Padnos’ team on K2 (nicknamed K-Runch
after last year’s little incident with a Sabre 35) taking a
second. SECOND WIND with Don/Jean Bergman, OL’ BLUE EYES
with Peter M. Schwarz, and HARD TACK with Douglas Slade
rounded out the top slots carrying Doyle Boston sails. Other
teams flying Doyle Boston sails included LIBERTE, skippered by
Dan Cheresh and Tac Boston taking a 2nd place finish in the
PHRF Level 114-123 class.
